Episode 100: Holy Suspender Buttons!: July 24, 2023

The Duo Defy
March 30, 1967
"Back in his iceberg headquarters, Mr. Freeze persuades the kidnapped Professor Isaacson to build him a thermodynamic ice ray beam. He issues an ultimatum that he will begin freezing the entire country if his demands are not met, then gives a demonstration of his weapon. As the villain works out just what his demands are, Batman and Robin track his seal, Asoulda, through an ice-packed Gotham Harbor to locate the villain's hideout."
57 minutes

RD: Celebrating 100! At 723 days (and just shy of two years) this is 250 shorter than the previous radio progrem. Remembering the episode numbering also helps. It also fits with the second season ending.

Unfortunately besides the Beatles posing for the cover of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, nothing of note happened on the original airdate.

In his autobiography, Eli Wallach wrote about once complaining to his beloved wife Anne of the millions Arnold Schwarzenegger was making as Mr. Freeze in Batman & Robin while he was only paid...$350. She just told him to gain some muscles. When Arnold heard about this he sent him miniature gold barbells.

Narrator: "When last seen, the Dynamic Duo was trapped in a large vaporizing pipe in Mr. Freeze's frosty hideout beneath the Bruce Wayne Ice Arena. With his hand on the controls, Mr. Freeze was in the process of lowering their temperature and then vaporizing them into the Bruce Wayne Ice Rink above. Did he? Has he? Will he? In one chilling moment we'll find out!"

Freeze watches with Glacia and goons for the moment he can use his "vaporizing pipe pump" on the Duo. Thankfully for a panicking Robin, Batman has given them "reverse thermal Bat-lozenges."
Robin: "Will it keep me from vaporizing?"
Batman: "I doubt it. Under the right conditions, and with the right temperature, even solid matter, the human body can be vaporized in a split second."
Robin: "That's not very long. Batman, I feel like I'm evaporating right now!"

Freeze flips the switch despite Glacia's second thoughts and "cold feet".
Freeze: "One moment Masked Meddlers, the next moment Cold Crepes! Pumped like any other  freezing mixture right into the ice rink upstairs!"
He orders his goons to retrieve Isaacson, although since he's been stuck 200 degrees below zero he's dead "I think you've frozen my memory" is his response. But he will try to retrieve the formula rather than be injected with more dry ice. He gets to doing so as Freeze flips through the very one-sided counterfeit money.

As Freeze berates Bruce for his double-crossing, Glacia remembers he and Aunt Harriet had come to visit backstage and had seen her secret communicator. Freeze of course is angered at the prospect of Bruce finding out their lair.  "Bruce Wayne is no idiot. I'm sure he's worked out some clever scheme so that Batman and Robin can bring the professor back without paying any ransom." So they decide to go back to the Iceberg again. This includes leaving Asoulda with the police, unfortunately.
Glacia: "But, darling, what about the ice revue and my famous waltzing arabesque?"
Freeze: "Glacia, take your choice. Your career or me."
Glacia (taking his arm): "I have no choice, darling."

Narrator: "But what's this? Something stirring in the seal house when we know Asoulda's in a bathtub at Police Headquarters? The es-Caped Crusaders? It's a cold fact all right."
Robin: "Holy escape hatch."
Batman: "Yes, Robin, most refrigeration systems as large as this one in the Bruce Wayne Ice Arena  have emergency exits."
Batman then decides to call her Emma Strunk. "Glacia Glaze is far too charming a pseudonym for one of her chilling corruption."
Robin: "To the Batcave?"
Batman: "And up the Batpoles. Even crime fighters need their sleep, Robin."
Robin: "While those crooks just stay away from us?"
Batman: "Don't worry, Robin, Mr. Freeze will be frozen in his tracks before we're through with him."

Narrator: "But what's this? On the dawn of a new day, not just one iceberg, but a sea of icebergs off  Gotham City Harbor." (:15)
Freeze has used an "ice" magnet to pull as many icebergs as he can to the harbor. RD wonders why he doesn't use that to use anyway instead of waiting for a formula.
Anyway Isaacson has finished with his formula.
Freeze: "How does this work?"
Isaacson: "How does what work?"
Freeze: "How does this formula work?"
Isaacson: "I don't know how it works. I worked out the formula, but I never did work out how it works."

For Freeze this will have to do.
Freeze: "Don't you see the potential? The Kremlin will be a cold water flat in a second. The White House an icebox. We would control everything from cold cream to cold wars, and all the lovely ice in the world will sparkle on your fingers and dangle from your ears."
Glacia: "You mean ice like in diamonds, darling?"
Freeze: "No, Glacia, I mean ice like in icing. That secret formula will be the frosting on the cake and the cake will be the universe."

So he has her try to seduce more information from Isaacson while he cheers her on.

In Gordon's Office he receives a call from Governor Stonefellow and from it relays to O'Hara that the situation they are in is "child's play, a brass farthing". You can tell it is serious because he almost breaks out laughing saying the lines.
Gordon: "The Chief Executive was just beginning an address to Congress. When he looked at his teleprompter what do you think he saw?"
O'Hara: "His speech?"
Gordon: "No. In some diabolical way, perhaps a thermodynamic ice ray beam of some kind, his speech on the teleprompter had become frozen. And in its place was a message from Mr. Freeze."
O'Hara: "Bless me suspender buttons!"
Gordon: "Saying that this city, this state, this country...would be returned to the Ice Age in a matter of moments, unless we capitulated to all his demands at once."
O'Hara: "Well, what about the Coast Guard, the...the Ice Patrol?"
Gordon: "Understaffed, overworked. The solution, as always, rests in hands other than ours, Chief  O'Hara. Oh, Batman, wherefore art thou?"
Cue ringing Batphone.
O'Hara: "Whereforever he are, Commissioner, he heard you."
Gordon: "Hurry, Batman, hurry, time now belongs to Mr. Freeze. It no longer belongs to us."

Narrator: "But so does the Thermodynamic Ice Ray Beam constructed in his icy Noah's Ark under the  direction of Professor Isaacson."
Glacia: "You are a genius to have made this, professor."
Isaacson: "Genius, Miss Glaze, is the talent of a man who is dead."
RD: "That sounds like something you would see incorrectly attributed to Abraham Lincoln."

RD then has to explain Buc-ee's to Vince. (:24)

Freeze uses a "small sample" of the Ice Ray on the city, even hitting the Batcave.
Robin: "Holy chill blades, look at the Batcomputer, Batman."
Batman: "I am, old chum, I am. Frozen to its very marrow."
He calls Gordon to ask Freeze for his demands.
Batman: "In the meantime, is that seal still in the bathtub in Police Headquarters?"
O'Hara: "Yeah, flipping merrily away."
RD: "Shouldn't they have taken the seal to the zoo?"
Batman: "Do you have the Seal Bat Signal I gave you?"
They attach the Pulsator to Asoulda so that they can track its wavelength to the iceberg in the Batcopter.

Cue the Duo being ADRed as other stunt doubles fly the Batcopter (assuming it's not just previously used footage).
Robin: "Picked up the seal's pulsator yet, Batman?"
Batman: "We're still over land, Robin, and a seal is an aquatic marine mammal."
Robin: "Gosh, yes, Batman, I forgot."

In the Iceberg, Freeze and goons discuss their demands including "complete guarantee of immunity".
Frosty: "I guess we can call them now the Vaporized Vanquishers, eh?"

Up above the Duo have to deploy the Batpontoons to enter their iceberg and contact Gordon on the location.

Unfortunately for Gordon, the Coast Guard does not have an icebreaker. The only thing O'Hara has is his "parker".
Gordon: "That's P-A-R-K-A, Chief O'Hara. It's a hooded Siberian and Alaskan outer garment. (To Bonnie) Bonnie, please call my daughter Barbara at college, ask her to take a later plane. I wanna meet her of course, but I have some cool facts to face before I get to the airport. (To O'Hara) Uh, okay, Nanook, let's go."

The goons are surprised when Asoulda returns, despite the being a homing seal. Freeze is happy at first...then turns sad knowing it's a trick. Finding the landed Batcopter he orders his goons to activate the ice magnet.
Batman (entering): "I doubt that, Mr. Freeze."
Isaacson: "Salvation!"
He steps outside unimpeded as Freeze wonders how the Duo found him.
Batman: "It was really quite simple, Mr. Freeze, thanks to ingenuity, your homing seal, our Ice Batarangs and our Ice Batropes."
Robin: "And our Reverse Thermal Bat-lozenges."
RD thinks there was a scene or two missing.

Freeze tries to shoot them, forgetting they still have their super-thermalized Bat-skivvies, so they instead have another fight. Five guys pile on Batman, leaving Robin to run and grab the stuffed polar bear (because of course there is one) and throw it at them.

Freeze tries to do his own unimpeded sneak out, only to be stopped by...the UN-Dynamic Duo? Shocking to be sure. "Don't touch the dials!" he randomly pleads.

Glacia is also arrested.
Batman: "To the world of the rich and renowned, such as millionaire Bruce Wayne, you may be known as Glacia Glaze. But to the world of the crime fighter you're known as Emma Strunk."
RD: "And both those names were terrible."
Glacia: "Batman, if ever you see Mr. Wayne and he asks about me and Mr. Freeze, would you tell him something Rabelais once said?"
Batman: "Rabelais, of course."
Glacia: ""To each his own," as the woman said when she kissed her cow."

Gordon: "I don't know how to begin to express Gotham City's thanks."
Batman: "In this case, Gotham City owes most of its thanks to a certain homing seal. In fact, she deserves more than thanks, she deserves a special reward." (He gives her a fish from his utility belt after shaking it to pretend it's still alive.)
Robin: "Where'd you get a live fish, Batman?"
Batman: "A true crimefighter always carries everything he needs in his utility belt, Robin."

Finally at Stately Wayne Manor, the household plays on a giant slot car track in the first and only use of the mansion's Game Room. (:40) Somehow this was all the work of Aunt Harriet, with Alfred's help (of doing everything while she watched). Harriet has named her car Glacia Glaze (once a fan, always a fan), Bruce is Emma Strunk (of course), Dick is Asoulda (once a sidekick, always a sidekick), and Alfred is Mr. Freeze ("Mine seems to have run into a bit of trouble, Madam.")

:43 Vince correctly guesses Leslie Parrish (born Marjorie Hellen) was 32 when she played Glacia Emma. She had quite the varied life including being Ms. Color TV to test color accuracy. She would continue to other activities and roles after, including environmental activism. She didn't do much acting, which included The Giant Spider Invasion, the MST3K favorite where the Packers won the Superbowl.
After some thinking Vince found her "attractive" for 7.5 Batpoles. RD is "very gracious" to eventually settle on 5.75.

Remember when NXT was intentionally bad?

  • Special Guest Villain: Mr. Freeze [3] (Eli Wallach)

Episode 99: Holy Go-Betweens!: July 17, 2023

Ice Spy
March 29, 1967
"Mr. Freeze is back in town, and has plans to build an icy weapon that will have the world at his control. With help from Glacia Glaze, the renowned ice skater, he captures Professor Isaacson and tries to extract the secret formula for instant ice from him. Mr. Freeze then sends his trained seal Asoulda to Police Headquarters with a note, demanding Batman deliver a ransom in exchange for the professor. But the frosty villain not only plans to keep the money and the professor, but to terminate the Dynamic Duo in the process."
44 minutes

RD: Maintains Normal Eyebrows. He didn't have time to wear a cap.

As a portent of the show and totally nothing else happening currently, on the original airdate the employees of the three major broadcast networks and part of AFTRA went on strike. It would last for 13 days, ending just in time for the Oscars.

Narrator: "The luxury liner S.S. Gotham Queen is only hours out of Gotham City. Her passengers are  enjoying a final meal on-board, little knowing it could well be their final meal."

Passenger and ice skater Glacia Glaze asks other passenger Professor Isaacson about his "top secret" formula for instant ice. Already the Bros are in disagreement over her looks.
Isaacson: "I'll be working in an advisory capacity with the Bruce Wayne Foundation."
Glacia: "What a coincidence. I'm opening tonight in an ice revue at the Bruce Wayne Ice Arena."

Suddenly the ship has to full stop to not hit an iceberg right next to the harbor. This is in fact Mr. Freeze's "unique, new hideout below the water line", where he's now played by the irreplaceable Eli Wallach with long reaching twirling eyebrows. He is in fact in contact with Glacia as he orders his goons to take the Professor.

Immediate jump cut to Bruce on the Batphone. "And then you say the kidnappers disappeared back into the iceberg and somehow the Gotham Queen was released? We'll ride with the wind, Commissioner. To the Batpoles!"

Cut to Gordon's Office the Iceberg where Isaacson already captured. Unfortunately for Freeze he's not written down the formula, only keeping it to memory. "And memory is a strange and intangible thing, you frosty-faced fool!"
Freeze order his goons Frosty and Chilblains to dismantle the Iceberg. "We'll take this perverse professor back to Gotham City and ice him. I have a chilling scheme by which I'll not only gain my ends, but permanently deep-freeze the Dynamic Duo."
He then pets his homing seal Asoulda.

NOW cut to Gordon's Office.
O'Hara: "Saints preserve us, who else could it be but that ice-devil incarnate, Mr. Freeze?"
Gordon calls the ship captain's testimony preposterous.
RD: "He lives in Gotham. Is this story that preposterous?"
Gordon gives the ship manifest to the Duo. "To the Batcave!"
O'Hara: "It looked as though we were in for a long cold winter, commissioner. But now, I think we're due for a sudden change in the weather."
Gordon: "Begorrah!"

Freeze's actual lair is under the Bruce Wayne Ice Arena, which visiting Glacia compliments.
Freeze: "Frosty, what does that thermometer read in the Quick Freezer?"
Frosty (creepily): "Two hundred below, boss. Dead on the cold nose."
They're keeping the Professor in there until he talks, which Glacia is excited about for some reason. Vince wonders why they didn't pretend to also kidnap Glacia as part of their cover and also as one way to also get the formula. RD wonders what she sees in Freeze as he again feeds Asoulda.

The Duo look over the manifest in the Batcave. (:17)
Robin: "All members of a fireplace equipment dealer's tour."
Batman: "Unlikely cohorts of Mr. Freeze."
One of the passengers is listed as "Emma Strunk" which Batman knows was Glacia's original name.
Robin: "Holy ice skates. But what would a talented, beautiful, famous star like Glacia Glaze see in  frostbitten Freeze?"
Batman: "The famous Rabelais has already answered that for you, Robin, with his great wit. "To each his own," as the woman said when she kissed her cow."
Robin: "Gosh, Batman, that's sure great wit, all right."
Bruce will go later to Glacia's ice revue with...Aunt Harriet. Since she is a convenient "devotee" of hers this will allow them backstage. You know, at the arena with his name on it which would allow him to go anywhere with anyone.
Robin: "While Dick Grayson, I suppose, stays home and works on his essay on glaciers?"
Batman: "Right again, Robin."

Back at the Office, Gordon complains to Bonnie about the sudden presence of a seal in the room. Has he tried giving it a kiss from a rose? Of course it is Asoulda (on his chair) with a ransom note in his flipper to be paid directly from the Duo. It also demands that "millionaire Bruce Wayne, head of the Wayne Foundation" is to make a televised broadcast from the Office at midnight. Gordon calls Batman while O'Hara calls Bruce.

Cue the visual of Bruce with a phone in each hand. Of course the Undynamic Duo are still on the other ends none the wiser.
Bruce: "Batman?"
Batman: "Yes, Mr. Wayne. Have you heard Mr. Freeze's scurrilous demands?"
Bruce "Just briefly."
Batman: "If Robin and I act as go-betweens are you prepared to make the telecast at midnight and pay the ransom, Mr. Wayne?"
Bruce: "I... have no choice, Batman."
Batman: "Then may I suggest you tape the broadcast from the Commissioners office an hour earlier. And we will have a dummy package of money."
Bruce: "A dummy package of money? That sounds risky."
Batman: "Risk is our business, Mr. Wayne!"
Bruce: "Of course, Batman, I have the same faith in you that all of Gotham City has."
Batman: "I hope Robin and I are deserving of that faith. I'll make the necessary arrangement and meet you at the Commissioner's office at 11."
Bruce: "Fine."
Batman: "Did you get all that, Commissioner?"
Gordon (as O'Hara hangs up): "Indeed I did, Batman. We'll set up the taped telecast and have the dummy package of money waiting. See you at 11 tonight. (He hangs up. To the camera) Two fine men, so dissimilar in many respects, and yet...yet so similar in others."

Narrator: "And presently backstage at the Ice Arena, in the dressing room of Glacia Glaze, nee Emma Strunk..." (:24)
Glacia wears a 12 foot long feathered hat as Freeze talks through her hidden communicator (a makeup mirror). He hopes for the Duo paying so that "everything's in the ice bag." She quickly closes it as Bruce and Aunt Harriet enter.
Bruce: "Your whole day sounded chaotic, Ms. Glaze. Weren't you on the Gotham Queen?"
Glacia: "A ghastly experience, Mr. Wayne. I'd rather not talk about it."
Bruce: "Of course."
Harriet: "But how lovely you look." (Emphasis mine.)
She mistakes the communicating mirror for a "darling compact" despite Freeze's confused voice coming from it and Glacia's covering for it as a Swiss music box. This of course appeases Harriet and puzzles Bruce.

In the lair the goons retrieve Isaacson from storage.
Freeze: "He should be stone cold by now. (He is in fact not or even Steve Austin) You're not even chilly!"
Isaacson: "I'm an Icelander, you frostbitten baboon! A slight drop in temperature makes little difference to me!"

Harriet goes to her box seat as Bruce leaves to take a call, leaving her to watch the show spellbound.
Dick is on the other end, both using Anti-eavesdrop Batplugs, and he is next to police HQ with a Remote Batmobile Control Phase Advancer. (:31) Bruce orders him to remote control the Batmobile nearby, place some spare Batclothes out of a nearby locker, and meet him at 10:55.

Bruce: "Alfred will take care of Aunt Harriet."

This is the only episode in the entire series that Alfred does not appear in.

Inside in Gordon's Office, Bruce records the message to Freeze that the Duo can make the ransom delivery.
Gordon: "You sounded like an old pro, Mr. Wayne."
Bruce: "An old pro, at paying a large ransom to that contemptible kidnapper?"
Gordon: "It's only dummy money, Mr. Wayne, as Batman suggested."
Bruce (suddenly annoyed): "Yes, I wonder why. I also wonder where he is. I've done my job and he told me himself he would be here."
Gordon: "Well, he will, Mr. Wayne. No doubt about it. Probably delayed in traffic. You can always depend on the Caped Crusaders."

Bruce walks out. Five seconds later the Duo walk in.
Batman (suddenly annoyed): "Where's Mr. Wayne?"
Gordon: "He just left. Didn't you bump into him in the hall?"
Batman decides to get out via Batrope to the nearby parked Batmobile.
Batman: "Commissioner, when you called earlier, you mentioned something about the ransom note being delivered by a seal."
Gordon: "Right. He flipped right in here."
Batman: "Where is the seal?"
Gordon: "In a bathtub down the hall. Why, Batman?" (Emphasis mine.)
Batman: "Take this. It's a small echoing seal pulsator. It may come in handy later."

As the Duo reverse Batclimb a concerned citizen "here from London for a manufacturers convention" wonders about this strange custom.
Robin: "Aren't you a king or something?"
Batman: "Robin, England has no king now. England has a Queen and a great lady she is too."
Citizen: "I am sometimes called the King, Carpet King, that is."
Robin: "Holy floor covering."
Citizen: "We have second story men in England, but this is ridiculous."

In one of the strangest cameos on any show (not just a window celebrity), Cyril Lord was known not for being an actor, but for selling carpets...in the UK. The story is that as part of a deal with one of the producers he was to be given a cameo appearance.

This would also be the show's last ever Window Celebrity. So take it for what it's worth. (A carpet or two.)

In the lair the Professor has been injected with...dry ice. I wonder if Icelanders are also able to survive dry ice injected directly into their veins. Unless they actually could and this guy couldn't since he doesn't have an accent. (:38)
Glacia arrives as Freeze lets his TV "warm up" to hear Bruce's message: "Batman and Robin will make the delivery when, where, how and if you so advise us."
Batman (entering): "Right now!"

He hands Freeze the money, which he immediately sees is fake due to only one side being printed. He tries shooting his Freeze Gun, but the Duo have their "super-thermalized Bat-skivvies" to protect them. So instead they fight. This ends with the Duo being thrown into the Quick Freezer. Freeze flips a switch, then has to tap on it a few times to get it working.

"Now Glacia, all I have to do is turn on the sub-zero temperature gauge. And when they've cooled down a little, I will activate the vaporizing pipe pump and evaporate the caped double-crossers directly under the ice of the Bruce Wayne Ice Arena. Imagine, Glacia, being able to do your famous waltzing arabesques directly on Batman and Robin. Behold, they are beginning to frost up already!"

Narrator: " What fiendish freezing isometric exercise is this? Is it the isolated end of the Dynamic Duo? Have they concluded their refrigerated cycle? To be vaporized and become part of Bruce Wayne's Ice Rink? Stay frozen to your furniture! Tomorrow! Same Bat-Time! Same Bat-Channel!"

And this is also the last time we will have ever such a narrated cliffhanger as this. So take it for what it's worth. (Same Bat-Time. Same Bat-Channel.)

Episode 58: Holy Boo!: September 18, 2022

Deep Freeze
November 10, 1966
"The press continues to attack Batman and Robin, thanks to framing by Mr. Freeze. As public animosity mounts, the Dynamic Duo decide to hang up their capes for the time being. But when Mr. Freeze demands the impossible sum of one billion dollars, or else he will cover all of Gotham City with ice, the Caped Crusaders feel compelled to go back into action to foil the frosty villain."
57 minutes

RD: Bow to the Brows! His camera is off as he prepares his "wild" orange eyebrows.

Vince recently recorded another podcast on how Batman may have killed off The Munsters (TV shows, not the actual characters...I think).

The Narrator takes six hours to summarize for some reason.

Robin whines, vowing to visit a Turkish Bath after their escape. RD wonders if he's being euphemistic. Batman asks him to kick around at the bottom of the vats. He knows about the steam in a Turkish Bath's pipes because of course he does. RD: "I suppose he spent some time in the Middle East." Well, obviously; he did train under Ra's Al Ghul after all (once he got around to being created in '71).

Elsewhere Freeze is rather sad that he got rid of the Duo so quickly. He tells goon Chill to get his instant camera for "the greatest ice crime in history that will destroy all of Gotham City in a few minutes" and finally bring Miss Iceland down to his temperature.
Miss Iceland: "Never! Not if I live to be a hundred... below zero."
Freeze: "You're stubborn but you're beautiful. ... Wild!"

Vince has never heard the word "bemoan" before.

Meanwhile the Duo manage to escape off-camera to the Batcave. (:13) In the Gotham City Herald: "Commissioner's Stolen Watch On Batman's Wrist!"
Robin: "Holy distortion!"
Batman: "Although the newspaper clearly indicated this photograph came from an anonymous source, and that could quite possibly be a fake, the great majority of the people will only look at the photograph and not read the text."
Alfred: "An unfortunate failing of the masses, sir!"
Batman: "Time to just hang up the cowl!"
He plans the people to think they have retired with the use of a "run-out powder" so that they can entrap Freeze. Aunt Harriet needs Bruce and Dick to run an errand for her in town anyway, so they somberly walk to the Batpoles to surface.

Majors is already in Gordon's office pelting him with much questioning. Gordon tries to run out of time.
Majors: "No, you don't have time. At least not wristwatch time! Maybe you better ask Batman the time of day. Isn't he wearing your watch?"
O'Hara has to dismiss her for some reason. "Back to your typewriters!" But Gordon laments: "the terrible tide of adverse opinion may soon engulf our Caped Crusader!"

Almost immediately someone takes their Batman poster out of a drugstore window which also includes what RD thinks is a bong (in the store front, not the poster). A kid seeing this boos Batman before walking off past Bruce and Dick.
Bruce: "Nothing has ever cut me so deeply to the quick. No blow ever struck by any arch-villain has ever hurt me so acutely as that little boy's boo."

In the lair Freeze plans to "wild" freeze the city if he doesn't get one...BILLION...dollars. He rubs the eyebrow rather than put a pinkie to his lips, but the point still stands.

...yet only now do they actually check if the Duo are actually "freezies for Goliath".

Shockingly Gordon starts saying "wild" in his office upon hearing the demands...to Bruce and Dick who are just there. Did they go to report that booing child? Bruce tells Gordon not to underestimate Freeze.

To show his seriousness Freeze "blackmails" them to see a demonstration conveniently right now: by freezing all the waterworks. This doesn't deter the same sargeant of the day before who thinks the waterworks employees are all drunk. Hard cut to a news anchor reporting on the city suddenly going to hell. And they didn't even have to cut off the bridges first

A delighted Freeze thus plans to go to Switzerland with his Mrs., but he has to freeze her first since for some reason she's still not wanting to go along with him. Vince wonders why she didn't use the a shag carpet rug in her cell as a cover. RD wonders how freezing her would change her mind, let alone how it would help their relationship.

The Undynamic Duo do the important job of...standing around and watching the news. Obviously they can't pay the ransom but what would Freeze gain out of this? Gordon thinks it is revenge for his condition. Yet they have yet to call the Duo for help.
Gordon: "I never thought it could happen. But like so many of us, I... I'm afraid I've lost faith."

Then after the break we suddenly see the Dynamic Duo out and about in the Batmobile like it's just a regular day driving to the lair. According to Batman a bad rep is one thing, but a threat of a frozen city is another. (:34) They climb up the building but only see "stooges" instead of window celebrities. Batman demonstrates his strength by bending a TV antenna to disrupt the signal.

Freeze: "What's the matter? First the commentator said the stock market went kaput and now the TV set went kaput. How else will I know if I get the billion dollars or if I have to destroy Gotham City?"

Goon Frosty heads up to the roof to check, allowing Batman to ambush him with a hammer to the head.
Batman: "That should straighten out your antennae!"

The Co-Bros have fond memories of their satellite dishes.

The Duo finally re-encounter their opponent.
Freeze: "Batman? But... but, but, but you were supposed to be a famous frosty freezie by now."
Batman: "Exactly what we wanted you to believe!"
Freeze then points to the frozen Miss Iceland.
Miss Iceland: "Batttt...mannnnn..."
Robin: "Why you... beast. You sinful beast!"
Batman: "You're inhuman. An absolute demon."
Freeze: "Inhuman? Demon? Wild!"
Cue the stunt doubles in the fight, in which the Duo are corralled into Miss Iceland's cell. Freeze has to come back later to finish them off, which went so well last time.
Thankfully Robin has his thermal underwear while gesturing with his bare arms.

Freeze calls Gordon to gloat he has the Duo captured and gives them a very exact 26 minutes. This important call done with, he returns to the cell to freeze ray the Duo, but of course they are unharmed.
Batman: "We took the precaution of processing our crimefighting costumes with a special Bat-Anti-Freeze-Activating solution."
Robin: "And rubbed some on the rest of our bodies."
Cue second fight, where someone throws an ice pick at Paul to use as a tripwire. The goons are locked shut in the cell despite the door being blown earlier (Batman has to adhere the breech before hand). Freeze's collar is broken so they have to put him in the cell also.

More importantly Miss Iceland is released. Cue Batman rubbing her extremely hard. (Ahem.)
Miss Iceland: "Oh Batman, what can I ever do to thank you?"
Robin: "Thank the judges of the Miss Galaxy Beauty Contest, Miss Iceland. They agreed to postpone the final event until you were found."

Vince gives Miss Iceland a very cold 2 Batpoles since she was more old enough to be Mrs. Iceland. RD is of course shocked at his colleague's rationale, his lowest by far. RD thought she was glamorous and figured even with too much makeup, giving her 7.5. Vince doesn't want any woman above 30 on the show for some reason. Feel free to make your own joke here.

38 year old Dee Hartford was once a model...in the late 40s. Her sister Eden was married to Groucho Marx for 15 years  (Dee herself was married to Howard Hawks for seven years) and through him she found most of her work with Irwin Allen, including being an android in Lost In Space.

In the Office (:49) Batman reminds Warden Crichton about Freeze's temperature despite the Commissioner wanting him to boil.
Batman: "A brother's sufferings claim a brother's pity, gentlemen."
Robin: "Holy epigrams!"
Batman: "No, truisms. No man is really all bad."
Then the Duo have to go to the Miss Galaxy contest.
Robin: "I'm not gonna be young all my life, Batman, and besides, beauty contests are practically an American institution."
Batman: "You see gentlemen, such pure logic is indisputable."

As they leave the booing kid from earlier is there to see him, moving Batman. He vigorously rubs the boy's head before they go to the elevator.

Gordon: "False pride is indeed a dangerous thing, Chief O'Hara."
O'Hara: "False pride? We were talking about beauty contests."
Gordon: "I'm talking about myself. How hard it is to admit when I'm wrong, but I was wrong, so wrong, [To the camera] when I ever even imagined I was losing my faith in Batman."

RD has to entertain the people. Naturally he puts all the blame on Vince.

Episode 57: Holy Wild!: September 11, 2022

Green Ice
November 9, 1966
"Mr. Freeze is in town, and has begun a new cold wave of terror. He launches "Operation Hate Batman," framing the Caped Crusader as taking a bribe and dressing his own henchmen as Batman and Robin. As the negative press mounts, Mr. Freeze works on his plan to turn the Dynamic Duo into human Frosty Freezies."
55 minutes

RD: Shut Up About WILD. He took Jr on a road trip to his first (AEW) PPV. He found the whole kerfuffle with Punk "interesting" but thought Tony Khan should have been more assertive in handling him. Vince reminds bookers not to befriend talent. RD wonders if this includes them. "Speaking of talent," Mr. Freeze is probably the first to show attraction to ladies, which will be hilarious when later tales have his whole impetus to save his wife Nora. RD: "Man's gotta have priorities."

A "beastly hot day" is still a good temperature for the Miss Galaxy beauty pageant. RD would have voted for Miss Barrier Reef. However before any judging can be done, Mr. Freeze and his goons come in to kidnap Miss Iceland and blow a kiss to the others.

O'Hara comes into Gordon's office all wet with sweat while his boss is informed about the actions of "that cold-blooded, cold-hearted, callous culprit Mr. Freeze".
O'Hara: "It seems a pity on a day like this to call out the Caped Crusader."
Gordon: "Fair weather or foul, dog days or a monsoon, who else can we call in such a crisis? And who else will answer?"
O'Hara: "Maybe Batman will welcome the air conditioning."
They then look up into the roof's giant vents to see Mr. Freeze standing inside looking down upon them.
Mr. Freeze: "I wonder iv Batmen will welcome the air conditioning!"
He then freezes the entire office with his freeze ray.
Alfred answers the call with a yawn: "naturally, sir." Bruce picks up.
Gordon: "Batttt...help..."
Bruce: "The commissioner...I think he was trying to tell me something."

After the titles (:13) Mr. Freeze is in an ice cream truck across the street of Police HQ. Knowing the reporters will be following the Duo he tells his goons Chill and Shivers to prepare themselves with a "wild".

Gordon's doors are iced and snowed shut.
Robin: "Holy polar front!"
A police sergeant thinks the two "policemen" have already frozen to death.
Batman (nonchalant): "A negative view point sergeant; man has nothing without hope."
He blows up the door with plastique as the Undynamic Duo slip and slide all over the place. The Dynamic Duo try to warm Gordon by throwing a cape around his shoulders slapping him. To be fair I would slap him too even if he wasn't cold.

As Freeze tries to flirt with his captive, the Bros note how well the makeup did to make Otto Preminger look as hideous as possible, complete with giant orange eyebrows.

Gordon wakes up, blessed to be rescued by his one true love. (No wonder in the storylines he's usually divorced.) "No matter how thick the battle, no matter how heavy the frost, no matter who you really are, or where you ever come from, I knew I could count on you Batman!"

They manage to fix the office just as the first reporters arrive on the scene, among them "Nellie Majors, Gotham City Herald, as if you didn't know."  Vince wonders if she was at the PPV/scrum.
Oddly they have to inform the unaware Batman of the earlier kidnapping.
Robin: "Mr. Freeze might be involved."
Batman: "Robin! Since when do we make public accusations without strong solid proof? Robin's indiscreet statement is strictly off the record."
Majors: "I've seen many heroes tarnished in the course of my career."
Gordon: "Nellie! I will not have you talk to the Caped Crusaders that way!"
Majors: "Oh you too Commissioner! Do you have something to hide?"
RD wonders why she wasn't working with Freeze with that line of questioning.

Suddenly someone wonders in with a giant block of the titular green ice - dollar bills - for Batman for "Incidental Crime Expenses".
Majors wonders if it is a giant bribe. "Your mask seems to make for an excellent blindfold!"
Batman requests to donate it directly to the police since they haven't heard of a thing called money laundering (...among other things).
"It's not your fault Commissioner. And certainly don't blame Miss Majors'. [To the camera] A reporter's lot is not easy. Making exciting stories out of plain, average, everyday people like Robin and me..."

Sadly Freeze's lair is not the truck, but the Frosty Freezies cold storage plant, where he is in the midst of planning Operation Hate Batman. (:26) Quote he: "wild." He reads and praises Majors' article in the paper, but doesn't go any further with her involvement in his schemes. Miss Iceland is imprisoned next to a giant thermometer, where he plans to accustom her to -50 degrees.

Vince raises a good point. (I know.) If Batman is to be investigated for any potential shady dealings, why has there been no reporting of the time a woman fell to her death in the Batcave's Atomic Pile?

Then the two goons enter dressed up as the Duo. "I'm Batman!" says the one. RD was sad it was not the usual stunt doubles.

In the Batcave the Duo use their Batanalyzer to determine that more 'bribes' will be involved. You don't say.
Alfred: "Knowing first things come first, sir, I waited until the last possible moment before interrupting your important computations, but the guests will be arriving shortly."
Batman: "Guests?"
Alfred: "Yes sir, the poolside reception this evening. For the Bruce Wayne Foundation."
Robin: "Holy tuxedo! If we're late, Aunt Harriet will kill us!"
Batman: "'Kill' is not a word to be bandied about haphazardly Robin. Angry, yes. As well she might be if we're late. Don't forget we've placed the entire burden of this reception on her stout unselfish shoulders."

This is the first we see of the stately poolside in the series. Newly reelected mayor Linseed tells pushup bra-ed Aunt Harriet how thrilled he is to be at "Stately Wayne Manor".
Harriet: "I originally planned to have it all 'Japanesy'. But the caterer called and said I should really do it Irish because green was most becoming to women guests. I even have the reflection pool died green."
Gordon: "Mrs. Cooper is a clever Colleen, Bruce."
O'Hara: "Who'd a thought it? A wee bit of the Emerald Isle right outside o' Gotham City."

Vince once lived in a log cabin in Indiana next to a catfish filled lake and had a very powerful blue dye.

This is the perfect opening for the caterer to appear, who is of course Freeze.
Dick: "Let's get him, quick!"
Bruce: "Patience...Dick Grayson."
Some other policeman tries to stop Freeze, so of course he shotgun-style freezes him into standing still while a green halo is superimposed on him. This is so drastic an effect the show immediately cuts to break right in the middle of it.

When we return, Freeze orders his goons to rob the people. O'Hara wants to sneak around but Bruce denies him; better to lose a few "baubles" than risk lives. Cue Gordon making a scene and pleading pathetically on losing "a generous memento given to me by the good folk of Gotham City!"

Freeze then orders everyone into the reflecting pool so he can freeze them in place. Quote he: "wild." This includes Bruce and Dick, as the "Duo" promptly show up...and collide into each other. RD is not sure if this was better than Ruby Riot falling flat on her face. But they manage to stage their "fight", during which "Robin" stubs his toe before "Batman" punches him. He almost punches Freeze too. Then they all just run off with a "wild", leaving Alfred to thaw out the pool.

Back in the Batcave Alfred has reservations about the Duo's reported reputation.
Batman: "There are other reputations to be considered: Commissioner Gordon, Chief O'Hara, Mayor Linseed. None of this looks good for Gotham City."
RD: "Did any of those people have any stellar reputation to begin with?"
Batman also still needs to rescue Miss Iceland. "Her kidnapping seems to have become secondary. A regrettable situation for any young girl."
They do manage to find his prospective lair though.

In the lair Freeze has to reassure his captive that she won't turn into a glacier. Then his goons give him his meal of frozen food. RD wonders how he can eat. Vince thinks he gnaws on it instead of cooking it first. He then hears that the Batmobile is out front, just as the actual Duo enters.
Robin (reading the list of flavors): "Gosh, Batman, dig those flavors: lemon lime, orange, raspberry, pineapple..."
Freeze: "Take your choice, Boy Wonder. Haven't you read the newspapers, Batman, haven't you heard the stories? The public is fickle. You are no longer the great hero of Gotham City. And soon, very soon you'll be hated, despised like me. Wild!"
Cue a very short scuffle that the Duo win. They are so much in their hubris from their superiority that they don't take any sort of precaution to Freeze's freeze ray.

So the Duo find themselves in giant frozen snow cones about to become human Frosty Freezies.

Freeze: "Wild!"

Narrator: "Can zis... eh, I mean this...be happening? Batman being made into a pineapple Frosty Freezie? And Robin into a lime one? Has the diabolical Mr. Freeze out-witted the Dynamic Duo after all? With some fancy ice-work? Hope for a miracle, and stay frozen in your seats! Until tomorrow: same time, same channel!"

RD: "Batman is blue. Since when is pineapple blue?"

RD tells Vince about United Dairy Farmers. Vince has Costco's soft serve.

Sad News: RD is no longer relying on Patreon support now that he has a new source of revenue.

Episode 8: Holy Diamante!: September 19, 2021

Rats Like Cheese
February 3, 1966
"When Mr. Freeze kidnaps a baseball player to make Batman surrender himself in exchange for his revenge, the Caped Crusader agrees to do so."
82 minutes

RD Is Cheering for Mr. Freeze, and he has a "tremendous" Batman and Joker surfing shirt. For some reason Vince's name is now the newly renamed ChannelAttitude.com, and he is wearing a sleeveless shirt to show off his inked arms.

Vince requests his Co-Bro for some background on Mr. Freeze, of whom RD is Cheering for. RD debates the necessity for canon for fictional works ([insert franchise of choice here]), but in the "normal" version of events as derived from the Animated Series he is trying to rescue his wife Nora through his criminal activity. This Freeze is much different, enough that Vince spoonerisms him as "Timber-Me-Shivers". (Now why wasn't he one of his henchmen?)

Here all of a sudden we have Batman causing Freeze's condition through throwing anti-freeze at him sometime before this episode because apparently that's how such things work. (:05) Vince wonders why they couldn't have spent more of the backstory on the previous episode, and even then the information here is shaky. RD counters that the series was unrelated to the comics overall of the time. But he double checks to protect himself from the geeks, nerds, and poindexters.

Vince also wonders of the episode's weird title. RD reminds him it was spoken by his beloved Princess Sandra, Formerly Sandra Karlson from Brooklyn. He has no idea why he wrote 37 pages of notes.

Anyway, the summation of the previous episode clearly shows the Dynamic Duo's stunt doubles, including the role of Robin now being played by Steve Carrell. (:10) Vince has questions, and this is coming from a guy who oversaw WCW Thunder. RD has to remind him they were not planning for in-depth analysis 55 years later.

Also we start with random street shots before cutting to a hospital at "midnight...at the Super Hypotherm Deicifier Chamber Mark 7!" Vince asks RD to apologize for missing the police may have saved the frozen Duo. RD thinks it was the Fire Department. (:13) He thinks the two lying frozen on a table reminds him of his old dog Piper relaxing in the sun.

The attending police officers then randomly mocking the medical attendant named...Vince. He responds with overacting which RD demonstrates.

RD had also noted Gordon praying for "two magnificent specimens of manhood" for your consideration. Vince turns a thawing nob, and the first thing the suddenly dry Duo do is shake each other's hands. O'Hara: "SAINTS BE PRAISED!"

A displeased Mr. Freeze is left to brood in his antarctic lair in the middle of summer. (:20) He threatens Batman to "die...die...DIE!!!". Or he's just saying the German "the" for some reason. Vince wonders if Sanders used this to audition for The Jungle Book and have another take his place.

Vince knows they next have footage in Dodgers Stadium. The Narrator gushes over the beauty of Princess Sandra, Formerly Sandra Karlson from Brooklyn, about to throw the first pitch. RD admits she has improved her standing in his eyes to a mediocre 5 Batpoles. Vince: "I thought she looked very good." Bruce and folks are there in attendance as she talks about her desire to meet the Duo, "socially of course!" Dick gives Bruce an extremely small package...of peanuts, and Bruce rudely throws the shells on the floor. Vince wished he would have put them in the bag instead.

Suddenly we hear one of the players, Diamante, is missing "due to reasons". Cue other henchman "Boo" to suddenly skywrite: "Three strikes you're out Batman!" Cue the group having to leave for a "board meeting". Vince would have preferred a distracting scuffle over a foul ball instead.

Freeze calls the police to gloat while the Duo are present and to offer his captured player in exchange for Batman and a 1st round pick: "I don't vant even a mark!" Batman: "Diamante is the idol of millions of impressionable young lads who look up to him. HE MUST LIVE to inspire the youth of today who will become the men of tomorrow!" Vince gives him applause.

Batman goes off on his own to Freeze. Robin returns to the Batcave where Alfred mixes up giving him tea with a parfait. Mrs. Deal had to remind her husband that he used the wrong name for her the English use "tea" more to reference afternoon snacking rather than just the drink itself. Robin admits he planted a tracking device on his chum, leaving him to be super excited by eating some dessert without Bruce being around to make fun of him. (:35)

Batman shows up at a poorly shot office complex for the trade where he's knocked out and thrown into Freeze's helicopter. When Robin shows up, the Co-Bros are confused by the "ill fitting" sweat pants he is wearing for some reason, perhaps because he stained his tights.

Freeze holds Batman in a beef locker with the meat still within it. RD wonders why Freeze keeps the rest of his abode at 76 degrees (Fahrenheit...I hope). (:40) RD lives in 70, Vince lives in 72. He relates how in Florida retirement homes they are around 80 degrees in the summer due to saving costs by not using air conditioning. Thus Freeze is of retirement age or thinks others are Florida retirees. Or he's just a jerk. Sadly the temperature is too cold for Batman to fully fight or act against "Cold Fish" Freeze who is waiting to see how his mood will be before he further acts. The Co-Bros express sympathy for his cold plight and making Batman thus know how it feels. So of course Batman doesn't apologize.

Anyway, Freeze also kidnaps Robin to have for dinner (with Batman). (:46) Freeze states he can put wine into whatever temperature he wants. RD wonders how he could eat or drink frozen or iced stuff then. Freeze then asks for Batman's apology for putting him in his state, of which RD is Cheering for. Of course instead Batman attacks: "We can get you some medical help." Freeze: "IN PRISON?" Robin: "I slipped on the Baked Alaska."

Batman gets Freeze with a punch to the face "right on the button" with the help of "super thermal be long underwear", leaving bare his face. RD wonders if that was the case why he didn't do anything earlier. Vince thinks his smelling the Baked Alaska messed with his head.

The rest of the fight is boring until Robin finds and pushes a stuffed polar bear on wheels at the grouping. O'Hara doesn't even give an excuse for the police's late show, further proof of Gordon secretly interfering for his own nefarious ends.

Everyone end parties at a hotel instead of the Stately Wayne Manor, as Diamante reunites with his date Princess Sandra, Formerly Sandra Karlson from Brooklyn, while carrying a baseball. (:57) RD complains that she also had her eye on Bruce as everyone expresses disgust at the Baked Alaska.

Vince searches for Baked Alaska through a screen share. (:59) RD has to guide his Co-Bro into doing an image search, which is further confused by his using Yahoo instead of Google.

Vince was most impressed by Freeze and his performance as a villain so far even if gets his name wrong. RD agrees with him. "How did that man not win an Emmy for this?" he asks in all seriousness. The two wonder if they put him in the prison meat locker.

The two have no memory of next week's villain Zelda the Great, other than the usual jokes nowadays about a certain game series. (:66) Vince goes to "The Google" to check and ends up at a Wikipedia entry. He then looks through some random images.

RD reiterates with Vince that Freeze is technologically savvy. Vince wonders why his plan for revenge would be complicated with other stuff. RD reminds who is complaining about complexity in storylines before he starts his shilling. (:71) His latest induction is on the now closed WWE Niagara Falls that he once visited to buy a cup from.

Episode 7: Holy Wunderbar!: September 12, 2021

Instant Freeze
February 2, 1966
"Dr. Shivel aka Mr. Freeze has returned and is seeking revenge on Batman, who accidentally spilled a freeze solution on him, being forced to live in a -50 climate. He is committing crimes involving diamonds, or "ice," in different forms. He freezes the duo, who look like goners."
92 minutes

RD is Less Boring than Mr. Freeze. Like Vince I disagree. RD is glad this episode wasn't the first as he found it terrible. Like Vince I disagree.

Vince finds it weird that he thought it would be a different actor playing Mr. Freeze than the one we get today. RD finds it weird that it was more action than camp today. Both liked that they started with action though, in this case at an ice rink with a looping scream and a motorcycle cop: "some kook melted the ice skating rink!" says someone in a "Gotham" accent.

Vince has no idea why villains need to do something outlandish to get Batman's attention when just a simple crime will do. (:08)

The motorcycle cop chases a truck for "Amalgamated Ice Cream" causing RD to consult a dictionary. Mr. Freeze stops the cop by freezing the road. Vince continues to wonder why Batman would need to be consulted anyway for the act of flamethrowing an ice rink. RD likens it to if anything happened to his video store. He also reminds him it was Gordon who made the call.

Vince segues to his time between WCW and TNA where he ran a seedy CD warehouse and hired someone because he gave him a business card for "Dawgman". He once chased a teenage shoplifter in a truck while leaving the shop unattended. (:12) RD was concerned he would shoot him.

For the first time we get some background on a villain, even if he is a "diabolical snowman" (:20). This is done in a police station with only 3 other unkempt looking police officers including O'Hara. Attitude Era WWF banned facial hair according to Vince like a reverse theocracy. (McMahon DID try to book a match against God after all.)

This time Bruce and a quite excited Dick are talkin' baseball (and Holy Koufax) (:23). Alfred loudly announces the Batphone calling right near some civilian players without coding it. Bruce responds by having to go for his date and a "teenage girl" for Dick. Vince thought Bruce was wearing a odd hairpiece.

Cut to showing Mr. Freeze in an astronaut suit. George Sanders was the original Shere Khan in The Jungle Book. Despite it being one of his top three favorite movies Vince mistakes him for voicing Kaa.

Batman: "Well poor devil!...He probably wants some kind of dividend."

Apparently he was the one who caused the suit due to throwing anti-freeze at him in a lab fight. Between this and originally being named Mr. Zero it's a wonder an animated series of all things 25 years later finally gave him his due (and Mark Hamill his first step to becoming the Joker).

The police have no idea what 'dividend' means. O'Hara: "Shenanigans!" Vince gives him and RD canned applause.

The Co-Bros are confused about where there would be nearby mountains where Freeze would be hiding in his air-conditioned lair. RD uses his Germanic heritage to say his one German phrase that he has lost his keys. Vince finds him more intelligent than the earlier villains. (:33) RD thinks he should have gone legit with a cooling and heating company or by using his technology for good and profit. Vince gives him more applause but he knows he would not give up his desire for revenge.

Mr. Freeze: "I vill toy with him like cat mitt maus!...Virst I toy, und then I destroy!"

His plan is to...use five Batmen and Freezes. He leaves this to his henchmen Nippy, Chill, and...Moe.

In the Batcave's (not Mr.) Freeze Chamber, the Duo try to adapt to sub-zero temperatures with anti-freeze capsules on monkeys. (:40) RD jumps too far ahead to Vince's liking, ignoring Alfred giving the Duo iced tea for their "chilly reception". Quote he: "contraption".

RD then has to help Vince understand their logic in reading a map to deal with the now six Batmen running around town. Even Gordon knows something is up, and it's not just the extra person. They find Freeze wants to steal diamonds, or "ice" as he calls them, including one Kashmir Diamond. He melts a horse figure, freezes the safe containing the diamond, then melts it. Yet he doesn't want his henchmen to shoot the guards with actual guns.

Then the fakes and the real Duo show up for the fight which finally has music and graphics. (:47) Robin almost punches his own friend during the scuffle. "It's the real me, chum!" Mr. Freeze...freezes the Batmobile before escaping with an immediate skywriting "Strike one on Batman!" Vince gives RD applause for correcting his pronunciation of the word "turbines". RD wonders how Mr. Freeze could have pulled off such timing. Vince McMahon: "Creative license."

Back to the Batcave they turn to the Inter-digital Bat-Sorter Anti-Crime Computer to determine that Freeze will now rob jewelry shops. Robin: "YYYEEEAAAHHH!!!" RD hopes they got their money's worth.

They also determine another prospective target with the world's largest diamond would be one Princess Sandra, Formerly Sandra Karlson from Brooklyn. "Baby Got Back!" Vince handwrote and underlined. "Now this was a tasty morsel!" (:51) He gives her 8 Batpoles. RD: "What? She's maybe, dot dot dot, MAYBE, in all caps, if I am being generous, like a 5." Sadly actress Shelby Grant (Formerly Brenda Lou Thompson) is no longer with us. Vince knew her husband Chad Everett. RD keeps unfairly calling her a dog.

Princess Sandra, Formerly Sandra Karlson from Brooklyn gets beef in a crate, but it's actually Freeze as "Cold Cuts!" The two wonder why he had to do such rather than just break in normally, unless he wanted to establish his pun-making capabilities

Cue the Bat-Turn into more serious stuff for some reason as Freeze had frozen and then shattered someone. The two wonder if Alfred will have to clean it up with a wetvac. They also learn his name is Dr. Art Shivel. (Dr. Victor Fries would only be after the 80s Crisis on Infinite Earths.) The Dynamic Duo climb four feet up the building Freeze is in boringly rather than with the Batrope.

Freeze finds his items with a "VUNDERBAR!" (:61) Arby's is Vince's favorite fast food joint but they don't have the Wunderbar ketchup dispenser that was at RD's branch for six months. Vince reminds people to use the Arby sauce which RD's Cincinnati branch didn't have. RD likes asking for "horsey sauce".

The two disagree on putting mayonnaise on hot dogs. Vince applauds his wife for being married to him for soon to be 38 years despite sometimes getting on each other's heads. This includes using all the condiments which he despises and feels he has to apologize for. (:65) RD never had that problem or any other with his 20 year marriage to Mrs. Deal.

Anyway, Freeze ignites the curtains to try and distract Batman: "Safety of hotel guests first!" he tells Robin. (:69) Vince wonders why he would want to use fire since he is an iceman. Down on the street Freeze freezes the Duo by pointing his gun at them before pulling the trigger, just as another immediate skywriting states "Strike two on Batman!"

Mr. Freeze: "That is the way the ice cube crumbles!"

Narrator: "Is Robin cool?...FOR GOOD? Can no one save our noble pair of human Popsicles? Same time, same channel! One word of warning: by watching you too can lose your cool!"

RD thinks this is the worst episode yet and dreads the next one. Vince disagrees due to Freeze's backstory. He also waits 24 hours before kissing his wife after she eats one of her condimented sandwiches. RD responds by calling his wife by the wrong name.

One of Vince's fellows shouted out WrestleCrap. RD was private message shouted out by a former WWE person now at ESPN. (:79)

Vince is not yet familiar with AEW or Tony Khan and doesn't understand the hatred around things. (:89) He plans to watch an episode of Rampage to discuss vs. RD next time for Patreon.
